Ahoy dear ones,
I’m Jörg Domann, skipper and owner of the sailing yacht Aurelia, with which I sailed around the world from 2019 to 2022.
I was born and grew up in Hoyerswerda. Later I studied computer science at the TU Dresden. After a few years as a developer and team leader in Dresden, I switched to a management consultancy in the Taunus in 2000. In 2006 I returned home for family reasons.
Since then I’ve bring home my bacon as a freelancer. I support companies in project and program management of critical IT projects. You can read more about this under Ervolution.
In 2007 a friend got me into sailing. Since then I have been drawn to the sea more and more every year. I would like to share this passion with you. Therefore you will find a lot about my experiences at sea on these pages. Some blog posts also deal with related topics such as environmental protection and multicultural cooperation.
In addition, you are welcome to visit or book me at one of my lectures.
As a skipper I have the certificates: SBF Binnen, See, SKS, UBI and SRC. However, the majority of my sailing experience has come from the more than 30,000 nautical miles I have sailed in the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans since then. I am also happy to share this experience with you and pass it on on a joint sailing trip or advise you on your blue water plans.
